COME TO LIFE ON STAGE!

For audiences K-6 and their grown up friends! Gretna Theatre's Kids Series introduces live theatre to kids, some for the very first time. Our shows are often based on popular books to encourage literacy. Transform your Saturday with music, drama, dancing, and lots of laughs. We’re sure these 1 hour shows will beat staying home and watching the same old Saturday morning cartoons!
Performances are 11AM and tickets are $10

Kids Series is sensory-friendly. That means typical “rules of attendance” have been relaxed to accommodate individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities and the families who support them. Since shows are in the daytime, the theatre never goes dark or blackout and there aren't any startling or strobing lighting effects. Seating is also completely open and not sold out, so if you need to move in the middle of the show that is ok! You can get up and exit to walk around and break, or even stand in the back with parental supervision without any judgement or worry.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley

Book by Timothy Allen McDonald
Music by David Weinstein, Jonathan K. Waller, Timothy Allen McDonald & Stephen Gabriel
Lyrics by Timothy Allen McDonald & Jonathan K. Waller
Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill, ten-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That's just the problem... for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one's ever seen before. Careful what you wish for, Stanley! One night, the bulletin board on the wall above Stanley's bed comes loose and falls – right on top of Stanley! The next morning, Stanley Lambchop wakes up flat. Not just a little flat... really, REALLY flat! In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley – the ultimate exchange student – scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He's stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood and France to Honolulu and beyond. And, whether he's thwarting a robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris, or "hanging ten" off the coast of Hawaii, Stanley is closing in on his goal of being a three-dimensional boy once more.
