A Theatrical Experience as Unique as Poe himself
In an outdoor theatrical experience, the most popular short stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe come to life as the sun goes down throughout Mt. Gretna. Six tales of revenge, obsession, and deception will be come alive as audiences walk amongst locations throughout the town, from The Jigger Shop to the Hall of Philosophy to some of Gretna's gorgeous house porches, each appearing when guests least expect it.
Drawing from Poe’s most famous stories The Tell Tale Heart, Fall Of The House of Usher, The Black Cat, A Predicament, The Masque Of The Red Death and The Raven, the audience independently explores a town riddled with guilt, secrets, and despair where people are haunted by supernatural forces, a mysterious plague and their own malevolent motives.
Alanna is excited to reinterpret Nevermore for Gretna Theatre this fall, having originated the role of “Evangeline” in last year’s world premiere at Old Sturbridge Village. Most recently, she co-wrote the immersive adventure-comedy experience, Fairytale Farm, which debuted at Coggeshall Farm in Bristol, RI this summer. As an actor, she has starred in six shows at Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, including the premiere of the UK Revival of Young Frankenstein the Musical. She also stars in the upcoming made for TV movie, Love Afloat, set for release later this year. Recent television appearances include roles in FBI: Most Wanted and Evil Lives Here.
